11 Sep 1998

ErrorMessage

Run-time error '7' out of memory

Some of the controls the game uses could be out-of date on your system.  Install the full version of Star Trek for Windows 9x. It installs all of the controls if they are newer.

Date:
12 Sep 1998

ErrorMessage

Run-time error 76, cannot find path C:\Star Trek for Windows 95\PICTURES

An early release of the upgrade (st11to12.zip) was missing the file stars.bm_.   You can fix the problem by downloading this picture file and place it in your Star Trek\PICTURES folder.

Upgrade to version 1.21 or higher.

According to the Microsoft Knowledge Base, the error "Wrong Version Of Run-Time DLL" is fixed by installing MSVBVM50.EXE which is available from this site.

STVersion:
Version 1.21
Date:

StepsToReproduce

This is what I was told that made this happen:

My brother opened up the generate registration code file and wrote some numbers then I opened up the game and i got the message.

P.S.: I uninstalled the game and installed it again and I still get the error message.

ErrorMessage

Run-time error '5'

invalid procedure call or argument

Resolution (12/11/98)

This problem is caused when invalid codes are placed in the Registration Tool included with the game.  Do not type anything into the "License Code" text box, unless you have a valid code after registration.  If this error occurs, please re-run the Registration Tool and type in a valid code.

StepsToReproduce

I double-click the icon, it begins to run, but after about 3 seconds it shuts down and closes.

ErrorMessage

No error message; application just closed by itself.

Response (5/11/99)

I am afraid I didn't receive this as an e-mail like I normally do automatically from my web server. I would have responded sooner if I had know this was here.  Unfortunately, I have not encoutered this error before. It may be something with your setup. Could you send me some more information about your system? Anyone getting this error should contact me.

Error loading languages into Registry

STVersion:

StepsToReproduce

  1. Install game
  2. Double-click to play

Are you sure you want to add the information in C:\PROGRAM FILES\STARTREK\FOR WINDOWS 9X\LANGUAGE\SetLang.reg to the registry?

Then: Change Language

Error loading languages into registry

Resolution (6/3/99)

As long as you click "yes," you should have no problem.  The error message will not happen if you click yes.  Run the game again and it should come up without the error.  Star Trek needs to let you select a language before you can run the game.  If a language is not selected, Star Trek runs the Change Language program.  Once a language is selected, run Star Trek again to play.
